COMMITMENT

Synonyms such as faithful, loyalty, dedication, etc. could be used to replace the word "commitment".
Commitment is a driving force, a zeal that propels one towards accomplishment in life. The root of the achievement in life and commitment could also mean selfless servitude towards something you love or believe in.
Hardly has anything ever been achieved by any man without commitment, dedication, loyalty towards that particular course. in being committed, one has to be persistent and optimistic. Commitment is a vital covenant trigger. In the school of success, life holds no greater fulfillment/success than that of a steadfast, committed man. Often times, people have great dreams and visions..... these remains dreams indeed if they lack the zeal and commitment to propel them towards the accomplishment of these dreams. There are positive results of being committed to God our maker. Nothing on earth pays more than being committed, faithful, loyal and dedicated to the cause of the Gospel which is our primary assignment on earth.
According to the Assemblies of God church calendar, the month of May has been tagged the month of 'Loyalty Campaign' in our Sunday School.
'Loyalty Campaign' may be a bit too complex to comprehend. It means a month of commitment to God through the Sunday School in Punctuality, Offering and in Soul winning, This doesn’t mean that it is only in the month of May that we should be committed to the Sunday School in the above mentioned areas, but rather an avenue/opportunity to collectively as a church work on the areas in which we are slacking in God's works. The area in which we falter as Christians most especially is in the areas of punctuality, Offering and Soul winning.
Soul winning which is the bedrock of Christianity now seems to be some uphill task to us. We've forgotten that the main reason why the church exists is to bring souls to Christ and nurture them in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. You may not be buoyant financially but you can contribute your own little quota to the growth of the church by witnessing.
Being punctual /on time to the Sunday School is also an area that needs to be emphasized on if we must become committed in the house of God. Below are some reasons people come late to church:
Laziness: When you don’t wake up early to do your morning duties or the necessary preparations.
Cheap Popularity: When people look for popularity, they purposely come late so they can be noticed.
Boring Church Activity: When the church activities is not interesting, people won’t see the need to be committed especially in coming early.
Devil's Activities: Most times, when the devil knows you'll be thoroughly blessed, he will set you up to come late.
Lack of Zeal: If the Zeal for the Lord's activities is not in you like the psalmist..... you will not see any big deal in coming to church late.
Lack of seriousness: If there is lack of seriousness on the part of the leaders, the members may begin to display a non-challant attitude.
Tradition: makes people come late "African Time Mentality".
Lack of Preparation: Most people carry over all their preparations till Sunday morning such as Ironing, Shoe polishing, Washing, Fetching water, Shaving instead of doing all of these on Saturday.
........ The list is endless, it doesn’t really matter what and what we may attribute our lateness to, the fact still remains that we are  late and we should try to always be early to this school at all times which is going to be of great benefit to us in all our activities especially punctuality to our work places, circular school and other programmes in the remaining days of the week.
Are you really committed in paying your offering? It is a pity that people still have the mindset that their offerings are being eaten by the pastor and church officials which makes people withdraw/refrain from giving God a "Quality" offering. Most people in our churches today have a certain amount of offering they pay ...... they can never be touched to exceed that particular amount even if they are "so Spirit Filled" so, when secretaries come around to collect their offerings, they  just signal and tell them "as usual". You keep praying to God to take you to the next level but you are not making any effort to take the work of God to the next level.
Let’s not forget that "COMMITMENT" is the key word in serving God. There is no seed that becomes a fruit without being committed to the soil. How much of your dream you realize is greatly determined by your level of your commitment. Commitment can make a genius out of a dullard and lack of can also make a dullard out of genius.
The Root of true achievement in life and ministry lies in the will and zeal to become the best you can.
